2025 Stingrays Coaching Staff
Brian Castillo - Head Coach:
Hello Everyone!
I am Brian Castillo, your head coach for the 2026 season! I am very excited to be back with the Stingray family for my second summer! My swimming career started at 5 years old when I joined my first summer league team. From there my passion for the sport grew. I started my club career at PACK, and then moved to Lone Star Swim Team a few years later before finishing at FLEET. I also competed for the Cypress Cyclones for several years, and swam at Cy Woods High School all four years of high school. During my high school career I was a regional finalist in 100 fly and the 200 free relay. After high school I attended the University of Texas at Austin where I majored in Kinesiology. My coaching career began in 2017 where I was the assistant coach for the StoneGators. While in Austin I also helped coach the Barton Creek Sharks while learning from a UT swimming Alumni and NCAA champion. After graduation my wife and I moved back to Cypress where I coached the Cypress Cyclones for two summers and am currently the head swim coach for Cy Woods High School. In my spare time, I enjoy being outside, spending time with my family and two dogs, working out, and watching movies.
Looking forward to a great season!
Bryce Borak - Assistant Coach:
Howdy y'all, my name is Bryce Borak, and I’m really excited to be your swim coach this year. I’ve been swimming since I was 5 years old, so the sport has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. This will be my first year with this team, and I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone. I swam all throughout high school and continued my swimming career for two years at McMurry University. During my time as a swimmer, I focused mainly on sprint events and specialized in backstroke and freestyle. I always enjoyed the fast-paced, competitive side of those races. Swimming has taught me a lot about discipline, teamwork, and pushing through challenges. I started my coaching career as an assistant coach with the Cypress Mill Makos, where I coached during the 2023 and 2024 seasons. That experience helped me grow not only as a coach but also as a leader and mentor. I really enjoy helping swimmers improve, build confidence, and have fun at the same time. My goal is to create a positive and supportive environment where everyone can succeed. Outside of swimming, I enjoy staying active and spending time with friends and family. I’m looking forward to meeting all of you and having a great season together.
Rosie Lafferty - Assistant Coach:

I am currently a part of the girls club water polo team at the University of Houston. I am beyond excited to be back around the pool, getting to see new and returning swimmers!
Go Stingrays!
Lilly Borak - Assistant Coach:
