Rebecca Waterman Scholarship Fund

Rebecca Ellen Waterman, age 47, passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2023. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose life was defined by her deep love for her family and her unwavering commitment to her community. Rebecca had a special gift for bringing people together. She believed in community, showed up for others without hesitation, and made everyone feel welcome.

Above all, Rebecca cherished her family. She and her husband, Jonathan built a beautiful life together, raising their three children—Clare, Luke, and Jacob—with endless love, encouragement, and support. Rebecca was present for every practice, meet, game, and new adventure. Whether cheering on the Spring Cypress Stingrays, supporting club swim teams, leading Girl Scouts, and volunteering with Boy Scouts, she gave her whole heart to her children’s passions.

Rebecca served as President and Vice President of the Stingrays. She led the team with her heart and was always ready to help before, during and after meets. Rebecca was always a source of encouragement for the new families on the team, answering all of their questions and being available to help. Her willingness to serve to the fullest embodied the Stingray spirit. Each year, Rebecca’s legacy continues.

As a team we raise funds through the Rebecca Waterman Scholarship Fund. The fund celebrates her life by supporting graduating seniors—honoring the same spirit of generosity, encouragement, and community that she lived every day.

Rebecca’s life was a testament to love in action—love for her family, her friends, and the community she so faithfully served.
