Hello Stingrays,

It’s warming up and feels like swimming weather now! Our coaches and swimmers have been doing a fantastic job so far, and I hope you’re having as much fun as me and my girls.

Our first meet is coming up on Saturday May 4th. This is a unique and very important meet that is just our team. It gives us a chance to trial-run a dual meet, but more importantly, each swimmer needs a valid time for every event they wish to swim in a dual meet.

If your swimmer or family cannot make Time Trials, make-ups are done in advance next Wed (1 May), Thursday (2 May), or Friday (3 May) (instructions below).

Each Sunday at 6 AM, we will open up a portal on the website for parents to sign up for volunteer positions and enter their swimmers into events for the weekly meet (instructions for both below). For Time Trials, the coaches want swimmers to swim in all events to get times—declare yes or no for this meet instead of entering events. Entries lock in on Tuesday evening at 8 PM. Changes after that are painful—please help us by declaring on time.

Instructions for Time Trials Makeups:

1. If you don't have times, you can't swim in dual meets later in the season

2. Make-ups require a parent to attend and record times for swimmer

3. Come to your normal practice—your swimmer will miss part of their practice

4. Lanes will be open on Wed, Thurs, or Fri next week (1st, 2nd, 3rd)

5. One or two lanes will be open based on the coach's preference for each practice

6. Timing sheets, clipboards, and stopwatches will be available at the pool entrance

7. Grab the correct age group sheet for your swimmer (8 and under or 9 and up)

8. Return the sheet to the “completed times” box when you are done

Instructions for Swimmer/ Volunteer Signup:

1. Sign in to your account at https://www.scstingrays.net (upper right corner, using the password and email with which you registered)

2. You will see a gray box that says "Meet entry closed" to the left of the green "Job Sign-up" button.

3. Click on the gray box and it will show entries for your kids

4. If you are not attending this Saturday, it should not have any events listed

5. If you have discrepancies/concerns, please email [email protected] as soon as possible

6. To sign up for volunteer positions, click the green “Job Sign-up” button

7. Meet entries will be locked Tuesday night at 8 PM, and changes will become much harder

8. “Job Sign-up” will be locked Thursday evening at 8 PM

Information for Friday and Saturday ... May 3rd and 4th ...

Fun Friday … May 3rd … Cinco de Mayo Theme! Swimmers and parents wear lots of bright colors. The treat will be a surprise!

Theme of Time Trials … May 4th … will also be Cinco de Mayo.

Team Picture ...The team picture will be taken at Time Trials, before the swimmers start swimming. Team shirts will be given out on this morning and will be worn for the team picture.

Planning Ahead ... Individual Pictures … Individual pictures will be taken on May 7th. You will be able to order pictures and other items … like buttons, bag tags, water bottles, and even magazine covers. On this day you’ll want to get to your child’s practice early.
