WOODLANDS WAVES MEET: RSVP, Meet Event Declaration and Volunteer List is now open. Deadline is 11:59PM Tuesday. Swimmers should select their BEST event for this meet. Parents can choose one they would like to see their swimmer make an end-of-season invitational cut in (especially if their swimmer has not swum that event yet in a dual meet).

SUMMER THUNDER: Summer Thunder on line meet declaration is now open! DEADLINE IS WED. MAY 24th  The process is similar to a normal weekly meet:

  1. Click on the Swimmer icon next to Summer Thunder on the Stingrays home page
  2. Select a child and then select “Add entry”.
  3. All events for your child will show.  Events showing in blue are events your child is eligible to swim, if an event shows in red they do not yet have a qualifying time. (If your swimmer is close, you may want to send an email to the coaches to make sure they know to look out for an updated time for your swimmer)
  4. Select events for each child attending, then click “Add to Cart” and then “Save” after each individual child. It is $5 per event
  5. Once you’ve completed that for all children, you can click “View Cart”, and then click on the “Pay Now” Paypal button at the very bottom.  That will take you through the payment process.

MESSAGE FROM COACH ELISE: Stingrays, I love the way you persevered despite less than optimal lane conditions at the Memorial Northwest pool.  You lived out our team value:  "Never give up."  There were some great races and even some time improvements despite a longer pool!  You can be proud of your personal wins--like a new best (converted) time, a first official time in an event you have DQ'd in before, and a race you know you swam with improved technique.  Our first two meets of the season have had very different outcomes, but we need to remember we can't control who shows up from the other team (100 more swimmers than us at Gleannloch Farms, or 44 fewer at Memorial Northwest).  What we can control is our race focus (Did you think through your race behind the blocks?  Did you swim through the wall at the finish with a legal touch?), our effort, and our sportsmanship.  As we get ready for the Woodland Waves, let's keep our focus and find that racing speed that comes paired with courage in the moment.  Prepare for that moment with boldness in your workouts this week.  We really need EVERYONE in EVERY AGE GROUP to show up to race next weekend.  We have 208 swimmers.  I don't see any reason we can't have 200 in the Woodlands next weekend.  Be there.
